Architectural and engineering design for new fire station

The City of Newport News (the “City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (the “Offeror” or “Consultant”) to furnish the goods and/or services described herein and proposals will be received via the City’s e-Procurement Portal, OpenGov Procurement ( https://secure.procurenow.com/portal/nnva ), to be received no later than Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 5:00 pm (local prevailing time). The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals to furnish/provide design services for the new Fire Station 11, located at 12640 McManus Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23602.. This RFP seeks designs for a new facility to house Fire Station 11 with approximately 16,000 – 17,000 gross square feet and four (4) apparatus bays. The proposed site is approximately twenty-one (21) acres, with some wetlands on the property. The site is owned by the City. The current Station 11 staffs a Medic Unit and one Engine, 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Project scope shall include site development, parking, hardscape, landscape, security lighting, and other elements as required. The new facility shall include four (4) drive through apparatus bays, bunk rooms, bathing pods, laundry and decontamination areas, supply and gear storage, gear/hose drying area, equipment repair area, breathing apparatus air compressor room, fitness room, training area, day room, kitchen, watch desk, restrooms, offices, and other program elements as required.
