Solicitation #26-1342-1403. Issued by Police. The City of Newport News (the “City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (the “Offeror” or “Contractor”) to furnish the goods and/or services described herein and proposals will be received via the City’s e-Procurement Portal, OpenGov Procurement ( https://secure.procurenow.com/portal/nnva ), to be received no later than Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11:30 pm (local prevailing time). The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide a Drone as First Responder Program. The City of Newport News is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide comprehensive support for the design, implementation, operation, and long-term sustainment of a Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program. This program is a key public safety initiative designed to enhance the operational effectiveness and response capabilities of both the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) and the Newport News Fire Department (NNFD).
