Public Notice. Agency solicitation #AA9205179. Issued by State Highway Administration. Category: Highway and road construction service. This project, located in Anne Arundel County, is for pedestrian safety improvements to a portion of MD 3 Business (New Cut Road / Crain Highway). Beginning at the Intersection of MD 3 Business (New Cut Road) and MD 997E (Stevenson Road) and extending in a Northeasterly direction to the Intersection of MD 3 Business (Crain Highway) and Oak Manor Drive for a total distance 1.680 miles. The work will consist of the following: (a) Converting 0.72 miles of an existing Southbound MD 3 Business (Crain Highway) roadway lane/shoulder into a new 5-foot-wide sidewalk with 3-foot-wide grass buffer with a new curb and gutter and with a new 5-foot-wide bikeable shoulder between Phirne Road to Oak Manor Drive, (b) Removal of right-turn channelized slip ramps and combining through and right turn movements into one (1) lane at two (2) locations, East leg of the intersection of Hospital Drive and MD 3 Business and East leg of the intersection of Oak Manor Drive and MD 3 Business, (d) Reconstruction of existing traffic signals, (e) Upgrading existing traffic signals to be compliant with the latest Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) / Countdown Pedestrian Signal (CPS) standards, (f) Reconstruction of existing sidewalk to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, (g) Construction and reconstruction of ADA curb ramps to be ADA compliant, (h) Construction and reconstruction of curb and gutter, (i) Reconstruction of commercial entrances and residential entrances and driveway, (j) Upgrading existing traffic barrier w-beam with new traffic barrier w-beam that is Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) compliant, (k) Upgrading existing bus stops to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, (l) Relocation of existing Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus stops, (m) Replacing existing chain link fence with new pedestrian metal railing along Northbound MD 3 Business (Crain Highway) sidewalk under the MD 100 overpass bridge, (n) Construction of raised crosswalks at two (2) ramp locations, (o) Excavation and grading, (p) Perform grinding and pavement resurfacing, (q) Furnish and install signing and pavement markings, (r) Construction and reconstruction of storm drain (SD) inlets, pipes, manholes, and structures, (s) Construction of new stormwater management facility, (t) Installing erosion and sediment control measures, (u) Installing landscape items, (v) and Maintenance of Traffic.
