This project, located in Anne Arundel County, is for construction of pedestrian safety improvements along a portion of MD 2 (Governor Ritchie Highway). The project limits extend from MD 177 (Mountain Road) to MD 648 (Baltimore–Annapolis Boulevard) for a total distance 2.47 miles. The work will consist of the following: (a) Construction of new 10-foot-wide separated shared use path for an approximate total length of 1.1 miles. (b) Reconstruction of approximately 2.1 miles of existing pavement shoulder/outside lanes to convert to 10-foot wide separated street level shared use paths. (c) Realignment of Amberly Road/Eastway access to northbound MD 2. (d) Reconstruction of existing traffic signals. (e) Upgrading existing traffic signals to be compliant with the latest Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) / Countdown Pedestrian Signal (CPS) standards. (f) Reconstruction of existing sidewalk to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. (g) Construction and reconstruction of ADA curb ramps to be ADA compliant. (h) Install crosswalks at street intersections and select driveway locations. (i) Construction and reconstruction of curb and gutter. (j) Reconstruction of commercial entrances and residential entrances and driveways. (k) Constructing concrete moment slabs over box culvert crossings to meet Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) compliance requirements. (l) Upgrading existing bus stops to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. (m) Relocation of existing Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus stops. (n) Excavation and grading. (o) Perform fine milling and pavement resurfacing. (p) Furnish and install signing and pavement markings. (q) Construction and reconstruction of storm drain (SD) inlets, pipes, manholes, and structures. (r) Construction of new stormwater management facilities. (s) Installing erosion and sediment control measures. (t) Installing landscape items. (u) Maintenance of traffic. (v) Landscape work.
