Evidence towing services, 24/7 availability

Issued by COUNTIES - Salt Lake County. Reference #SLCo SHE113488-2 Evidence Towing - RFC. Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement, on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, invites your company to bid on providing evidence towing services. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking multiple vendors for towing evidence. This solicitation is a re-issue of the previous SHE113488-1; the County is seeking to add additional vendors to the existing pool.

The perspective bidders must be available 24/7, 365 days a year; the perspective tow company must be equipped to tow large vehicles and items, sometimes in steep canyon areas or off-road, and in inclement weather. Bidders are required to have the capability to tow vehicles or items of any type, including heavy duty class vehicles or items (26,000+ lbs.); partial bids will not be considered for award. When called, the tow company is required to show up on site within 30 minutes for local areas and within 1 hour for calls in the unincorporated and canyon areas.

All bidders meeting specifications will be placed in the vendor pool. The order in which successful companies will be called out will be determined by the Grand Total submitted by each company from the Pricing Schedule attachment.

If the first company is unavailable for any reason, the next vendor in order will then be dispatched. If the dispatched towing service first called accepts the call but does not arrive within the specified allowable time, the call out will be canceled with no allowable charges to Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office or the vehicle owner. The next company will then be dispatched.

If the company accepts a call and arrives at the location of the incident, the vehicle or item assigned to the company/driver must be removed. The driver is not to turn it down once on scene.

In response to the scene of a vehicular accident, it shall be the company’s responsibility to completely clean the scene of all oil, radiator fluid (including absorbent material), and any other vehicular debris or fluid resulting from the accident.

Bidders are required to provide all documentation necessary, as part of their bid, to show compliance with UDOT Rule R909-19-8. Certification. A Required Documents attachment has been provided to aid bidders in submitting all required documentation. Failure to submit all required documentation may result in your bid being deemed non-responsive. Project closes Dec 31, 2026 5:00 PM MST.
