Sheriff's Office Towing Rotation Services

Issued by COUNTIES - Salt Lake County. Reference #SLCo SHE113487-1 Sheriff's Office Towing Rotation - RFC. Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement, on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, invites your company to bid on providing rotation towing services. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking to increase the supplier pool with multiple additional vendors for the existing rotation towing project. Successful bidders meeting all bid specifications will be added to the resulting tow rotation. Charges resulting from towing services will be the responsibility of vehicle owners and/or insurance.

The perspective bidders must be available 24/7, 365 days a year; the perspective tow company must be equipped to tow large vehicles and items, sometimes in steep canyon areas or off-road, and in inclement weather. The company shall respond with its own equipment, which is permanently marked with the company name and logo. The company will not use other towing company equipment on a “temporary lease” or substitute backup basis. The door of the tow company name should match the contractor that was called and not with a magnetic placard with the name.

When called, the tow company is required to show up on site within 30 minutes for local areas and within 1 hour for calls in the unincorporated and canyon areas. If the towing service first called accepts the call but does not arrive within the specified allowable time, the call out will be canceled with no allowable charges to Salt Lake County Sherriff’s Office or the vehicle owner. The next vendor in the tow rotation will then be dispatched.

If the company accepts a call and arrives at the location of the incident, the vehicle or item assigned to the company/driver must be removed. The driver is not to turn it down once on scene.

In response to the scene of a vehicular accident, it shall be the company’s responsibility to completely clean the scene of all oil, radiator fluid (including absorbent material), and any other vehicular debris or fluid resulting from the accident.

Successful bidders may be required to acquire any third-party software and/or applications necessary for the purposes of receiving County notifications for tow requests.

Attendance is not mandatory, but it shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder to attend this conference. Bidders not attending do so at their own risk. The written questions submitted, along with any other additional information pertaining to the clarification of specifications will be discussed in detail at this conference. Bidders shall thoroughly familiarize themselves with this RFC document including specifications prior to attending the conference.
