Official description
Solicitation #2025-26-058. Issued by Parks & Community Engagement Department. The Department of Parks and Community Engagement is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive engineering, design, procurement, installation, integration, and commissioning services for a full modernization of Goodlet Theater. This initiative is intended to significantly enhance the theater’s technical capabilities, audience experience, and long-term operational efficiency through targeted upgrades to its audio/visual systems, projection capabilities, and audience seating. The selected contractor will be expected to deliver a turnkey, performance-based solution that includes on-site spatial assessment, equipment sizing, installation, system testing, staff training, and strict warranty support, alongside options for ongoing annual maintenance. The scope of work includes a complete audio system upgrade, featuring new professional-grade speakers, wireless microphone capabilities, upgraded wiring and infrastructure, acoustic improvements, and a modern digital sound control board. In addition, the project includes a full lighting system modernization featuring upgraded stage and show lighting, programmable DMX lighting controls, rigging improvements, and dedicated spotlight capabilities (with backstage/dressing room illumination available as an additive alternate). The theater will also receive a premium projection and camera system upgrade, including the installation of a high-end large-format projector, a motorized retractable projection screen, and a PTZ camera system capable of live streaming and recording. As part of this modernization effort, the project will also include the replacement of the existing 226 theater-style audience seats with new commercial-grade seating designed to improve patron comfort, aesthetics, and durability. This will include the removal and disposal of the current seating, the engineering and installation of new fixed theater seating, and any necessary adjustments to floor anchoring systems while maintaining ADA accessibility requirements. Collectively, these improvements are intended to position Goodlet Theater as a premier cultural and community venue, capable of supporting high-quality performances and events for years to come.
