To successfully operate a shelter, experienced staff are needed to provide on-site security. PCDEM’s shelter services can vary depending on the size and impact of the incident. For smaller operations, security staff are on-site to provide a visual deterrent for unwanted behavior. Larger operations may require more interaction with staff and guests, such as escorting guests out if removed from the shelter.
