Evidence-based falls prevention services for seniors

Solicitation #23-002-ADR-RFP. Issued by Human Services. Pierce County Human Services, Aging and Disability Resources has made available up to forty-four thousand six hundred sixty-four dollars ($44,664), from Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) Title III D (CFDA 93.043) funding for evidence-based falls prevention services. The County reserves the right to utilize other fund sources for these services if they become available. The primary purpose of OAA Title III D funding is to provide support for programs that support healthy lifestyles and promote healthy behaviors. OAA Title III D funds can only be used for programs that have been demonstrated to be evidence-based and effective. Evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs reduce the need for more costly medical interventions. Awarded Contractors must develop a contribution policy to allow persons served under the Federal Older Americans Act the opportunity to contribute to the cost of services provided. The policy must make provisions for confidentiality as well as for procedures to properly account for contributions made by participants. Contributions received must be used to expand and enhance program services.
