Official description
Solicitation #2023-PE-297. Issued by Procurement and Contract Division. SWM needs to swap out the pH sensors on the Division's In-Situ Aquatroll 500 water quality sondes and replace them with fDOM sensors. fDOM is the fraction of CDOM that fluoresces. CDOM stands for Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter or Colored Dissolved Organic Matter. Both terms mean a quantitative measurement of the concentration of decaying organic material detectable in the water column, (i.e., tannins, humic acids, and other forms of dissolved organic carbon (DOC)). fDOM is the fraction of CDOM that can be more accurately measured. And knowing the fDOM value (number) will provide for a more precise computation of CDOM and DOC, which are very useful datasets for us to have when conducting turbidity analysis.
