Expand community health worker training programs

The Maryland Department of Health's Office of Population Health Improvement (OPHI) is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to expand the number of trained and certified CHWs in Maryland. The RFA is being issued for Community Health Worker Training Programs accredited by MDH to expand access to training for at least five (5) Maryland Community Health Workers (residing or employed in Maryland) per awarded organization, ultimately leading to the student’s eligibility for Maryland CHW certification. Additionally, the awardee may use grant funds for the provision of supplies and materials (e.g., loaner laptops, textbooks) for the enrolled CHW students to address barriers to and support their completion of the accredited training program.
