Official description

Public Notice. Agency solicitation #RFI MD Infant Screening Database. Issued by Maryland Department of Health (Department of Health - Administration, Boards & Commissions). Category: Software. The purpose of this RFI, which is not a solicitation to procure, is to gain familiarity with currently-marketed products and services for a centralized, state-of-the-art, customizable and commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application. The LIMS will be able to electronically receive test orders and transmit test results that can be delivered electronically to healthcare providers and passed to patients. The LIMS will also increase MDH’s ability to visualize laboratory testing data used to support public health systems. The CRM will serve as an internet-based solution to fulfill surveillance and follow up activities of the Department’s infant screening follow up programs, including: Early Hearing Detection and Intervention, Birth Defects reporting, Newborn Metabolic (bloodspot) screening, Critical Congenital Heart Defects (CCHD) screening, and follow up of infants and children impacted by other public health priorities. This RFI contains preliminary information to serve as a platform to initiate discussion with the vendor community.
