Official description
Solicitation #B027-11. Issued by Water. The City of Meriden is looking to rehabilitate the Merimere Water Filtration Plant. The scope consists of removing and disposing of the sand/sludge layer, remove and repair the underdrain system for replacement, remove and reconstruct the access ramp, remove and dispose of the filter fabric, sand below and the geomembrane and assure the gravel base is compacted and formed with no washouts or significant divots. The Merimere Water Filtration Plant is a 1.2 MGD facility built in 1963 with lagoon improvements in 2002. The lagoons are showing signs of deterioration that compromise treatment performance and environmental compliance related to flows. The system consists of two lagoons, one about 5,300 ft 2, and the other about 7,500 ft 2. This contract will be funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, thus Federal Labor Standards Provisions, including the prevailing wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts will be enforced as applicable.
