Reference #FR-SV-26-002. Department: Freight. Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County. In addition to passenger rail service, SMART is a common carrier that owns and operates freight rail services within Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County.
SMART is seeking Proposals from qualified, experienced, and licensed railroad Contractors to perform Federal Railroad Administration ("FRA") required routine inspections, tests, and maintenance, including on-call emergency callout maintenance services for railroad signal equipment located along SMART’s Brazos Junction Subdivision. This contracting opportunity specifically supports SMART's Freight Division.
The prime contractor must hold an A-General Engineering Contractor's License and active registration with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
This contract has a 3-year base term with two (2) one-year options to extend thereafter.
This Agreement will be funded using State of California grant funds or SMART Local Funds.
