Reference #FR-BB-26-001. Department: Freight. Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (“SMART” or “District”) is a Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County. In addition to passenger rail service, SMART is a common carrier that owns and operates freight rail services within Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County.

SMART is seeking sealed bids from qualified, licensed, and experienced contractors to install, test, and commission a 26’ cantilever and mast (furnished by SMART) to replace an existing damaged cantilever.

This project includes repair and replacement of components of an out-of-service grade crossing warning system located at 8th Street, in Schellville California, and complete testing and inspection required to place the warning system back into service. The Scope of Work includes traffic control, removal of existing cantilever masts on both North and South sides of the 8th Street at-grade crossing, installation of the District-furnished cantilever structure, furnishing, installing, and testing miscellaneous warning device components, wiring, tagging, signage, batteries, and removal and disposal of out-of-service batteries.

The engineer's estimate for this project is $100,000.00.
